Meadowlane and Children in Need – NEED YOU!
BBC’s Children in Need’s Dash for Cash is coming to Meadowlane Shopping Centre, Magherafelt on Thursday 23rd October and this is Magherafelt’s chance to show off to the rest of Northern Ireland how generous we are in Mid Ulster! The town of Magherafelt and Meadowlane Shopping Centre have been specially selected to help well –known BBC Personality Stephen Nolan in his quest to raise cash for Children in Need and therefore he needs the help of the general public to do this. This is a great opportunity for the local community to come together to raise funds and showcase the town. Meadowlane Shopping Centre is organising a Fun Day in the Centre on Thursday 23rd October from 12 – 6pm to raise funds for BBC Children In Need.
There are many wild and wacky events planned by Centre Management, the shops in the Centre and various community groups. The events include –
- Live Music
- Face Painting & Balloon Modelling
- Line Dance-athon!
- Hip Hop Dance-athon!
- Stephen Nolan Trolley Dash in Dunnes Stores
- Barrier Free Car Parking
- Sponsored Run on Treadmill - Woolworths Team
- Sponsored Male Waxing!
Centre Manager, Sarah O Neill, is excited about the event, “This is a fantastic opportunity for Meadowlane Shopping Centre and Magherafelt and the surrounding areas to feature on TV on one of the most prestigious charity events. We are appealing for people to come along to the Centre on Thursday and take part in or even just enjoy all the crazy events going on. It’s going to be a real fun event for all and the main aim is to raise money to help many needy children’s charities in Northern Ireland.”
